JESUS said it…KNOW HIM!

JESUS said it…

I have not really made the time to write on my blog for a couple of months…and it seems that sometimes ALL of my life’s obligations and demands get in the way and before I know it…poof…too much time has went by, so now I have so much in my heart to download….but I will start with some things that I believe are the top priority.

My heart’s cry lately is ….”Oh that I may “KNOW HIM”!! And for me this is a daily process, and as I get to know HIM, I get to know the things in me that need adjustment.  If I truly call myself a “disciple and follower of JESUS”…am I walking as HE said to walk, and listening and OBEYING what HE said to do?  For me…just “calling” myself a Christian or disciple means nothing unless my actions back up my words….I always say ….”WALK YOUR TALK”!!

When I began this journey to re-read the “words of Jesus”…and I mean REALLY READ it…I began to see some things that HE told us to do and some things that HE told us to NOT DO.  So I guess my first question to ALL of us is….when we HEAR HIS SAYINGS and WARNINGS…are we APPLYING them to our lives??  OR…are we JUST IGNORING what Jesus said to do and instead incorporating our own man made traditions, agenda’s, motives and even duties of how we “DO CHRISTIANITY” based on some denominational organization’s “articles of faith” or rules, based on what we’ve learned in a University that sometimes is also governed or controled by man made beliefs and doctrines, or even based on our own selfish wants or needs for affirmation from a title, building or people?  ….OR….are we REALLY going to DO what JESUS SAID to DO???  Let us take a beat…a pause…a moment to really REFLECT on what we are doing and why??  If what we are doing does not ALIGN with not only the WORDS of JESUS, but also the HEART of JESUS…I would not hesitate to say that maybe we need to take this seriously and STOP?  There is SOOO MUCH we can really take away and apply from the words of JESUS.

But…back to the “KNOWING HIM” goal.  HOW do we know that we “KNOW HIM”?? 

1 JOHN 2:3-6  –  ³ And hereby we do know that we KNOW HIM, if we keep his commandments.  ⁴ He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.  ⁵ But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.  ⁶ He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

These verses state it pretty clearly that IF we KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS we know that we KNOW HIM…and that we should also walk as he walk….to “follow in HIS footsteps”…and do what HE did!  It really states it pretty clearly.  So I guess the thing would be to HEAR the sayings of JESUS and DO THEM.

There is a warning in Matthew 7:21-23…

^{Matthew 7: 21} Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.²² Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?²³ And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

We see here that NOT EVERYONE will ENTER into the kingdom of heaven…BUT he that DOES the will of the Father.  IT is very sobering to also read that there will be those that are prophesying, doing deliverance ministry and operating in “wonderful works” or performing miracles….and the Father will say….DEPART FROM ME…HE even says they “WORK INIQUITY” (wickedness).   WHAT?? WOW!!! Allow that to really “sink in”!!  You mean to say that when we see this, it is not always something pleasing to the heart of GOD??

We will continue to read on in Matthew 7:24 what JESUS SAID….

^{Matthew 7:24} Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

That means that IN ORDER to DO what HE SAYS….first it requires us to HEAR HIS SAYINGS!!  So let us NOT take for granted and ignore what JESUS SAID!!  We also read on in Matthew 7….

^{Matthew 7:25} And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  ²⁶ And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: ​²⁷ And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

This says that if we do not build upon the rock…and we build upon sand (unstable)–that “GREAT” will the fall be.  So we want to START first by BUILDINIG a FIRM FOUNDATION (on the rock) that will weather ALL the storms of life!  This starts FIRST by HEARING and DOING what JESUS SAID to DO and NOT TO DO!!  

I mean really…if JESUS walked into your living room (HE can do that)…and looked YOU specifically in the eyes and said STOP IT…would you?? If JESUS also specifically gave you a command or direction….while he is right up in your face…would you DO IT??  

THEN WHY….ARE WE NOT DOING IT NOW??  We have HIS WORDS right before us…maybe it’s time to revisit “the words in red”??  Please let us not ignore the words of Jesus.

When you are doing “official ministry” or have a “program”…let us remember ALL the words of Jesus.

Let us LOVE one another as HE loved us…(John 13:34)…not love one another as we see fit. 

^{John 13:34} A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.³⁵ By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

It says that all men will know we are a “DISCIPLE” if we LOVE ONE ANTOHER.  Let us NOT BAN someone from our program or ministry because they didn’t meet “our expectations”!  Let us give to all those that have need, not to get something in return (praise or gratititude).  Let us  remember the “LEAST OF THESE”….in our daily walk.  Let us be the LIGHT and SHOW THE LOVE OF CHRIST to ALL!!

As I continue to read…for me ….it is serious that I NOT IGNORE these words in red…the words of JESUS!!  Let us read what HE says in Matthew 25….

^{Matthew 25:31} When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:³² And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:³³ And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.  ³⁴ Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: ³⁵ For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: ³⁶ Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. ³⁷ Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? ³⁸ When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? ³⁹ Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? ⁴⁰ And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. ⁴¹ Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: ⁴² For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: ⁴³ I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. ⁴⁴ Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? ⁴⁵ Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. ⁴⁶ And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Let us remember that whatever we do to others…what some may consider “the least of these”…we DO IT TO HIM…JESUS!  I want to be one of those that at HIS return…will be considered a “sheep on the right” that will be “blessed of the Father and inherit the kingdom and life eternal.  I DO NOT WANT to be a “goat on the left” that HE will say to them “DEPART YE CURSED into everlasting fire and punishment”!  

When we come to the realization that JEUSUS came to break us out of a judgemental “pious religion” and bring a new covenant…a REFORMATION (Hebrews 9-10) of how HE wanted us to live and exhibit the heart of the Father and demonstrate the kingdom wherever we go.

Let us continue to HEAR the words of JESUS and to DO THEM!!!  Let us speak life and encouragement to others…not using our little pointy finger and poking it in their chest to remind them of how much a “sinner” they are (all things are made new).  Let us demonstrate the unselfish, sacrificial, unconditional LOVE of the FATHER…the LOVE that DIED for us.
